The Spain international has explained his decision to name his pets after Barcelona players and is confident of becoming a key player at his new clubNew Real Madrid signing Isco has revealed he had another dog named after Luis Figo, while he has insisted he will not change his current pet's name from Messi to Cristiano Ronaldo.
The name of the attacking midfielder's labrador was one of the hot topics during his Madrid presentation on Wednesday and he has stressed that people should not read too much into his decision to name his dog after the Barcelona star.
"My pet is named Messi and by the way I also had another pet named Figo. There isn't more to it," Isco told reporters.
"I won't change his name to Cristiano, because he won't listen to it."
The creative midfielder then went on to say it was impossible for him to turn down Madrid, while he added that he is confident he will secure a starting berth at his new club.
"I had offers from other teams across Europe, but it is impossible to reject Real Madrid," he continued.
"I am confident that I will earn a spot in the starting XI here. It will not be easy, but I will give my all to become a key player. If I thought that I would not be able to become a starter, I would not have joined Madrid."
Isco also had his say on Carlo Ancelotti, lavishing praise on Madrid's new head coach.
He added: "What can I say about Ancelotti? He has won things at all the clubs he has worked at. He has won the Champions League as a player and as a coach. That really says it all."
