Samsung and Apple are set for another major clash - in this year's Gadget Awards organised by tech magazine T3.
They go head-to-head in several categories, not least in Phone of the Year, where the Samsung Galaxy 4 challenges the Apple iPhone 5 for the top spot.
The two tech giants have nine nominations each. They will find out who has won at the awards ceremony in London in October.
Luke Peters, editor of T3, is particularly looking forward to the category for Tech Moment of the Year.
Felix Baumgartner's leap from space, watched by millions as a YouTube live stream, is up against the rollout of 4G phone services and Psy's original Gangnam Style video – the first to achieve more than a billion hits on YouTube. They all face competition from the Barack Obama's presidential election win twitpic - the most retweeted image ever.
Sky News presenter Martin Stanford, who is also a member of the industry expert judging panel, said the TV of the Year Award will be particularly interesting.
"For the first time a 4K TV has been nominated for an award and while there can't be many people with the spare cash to afford one of these cutting edge 'four-times-better-than-HD' quality sets, the picture wow factor is much greater than the move from SD to HD," he said.
